10 Habits Of Highly Confident People

Have you ever pondered how certain people manage to succeed in almost all they do and seem to glide through life? If the response is yes, you have also questioned why, despite working just as hard and possessing the same level of expertise, you are not doing more of the same. What's the difference? It all comes down to confidence. It has an impact on almost every aspect of our lives, from our working lives to our social lives.

Making the most of your skills and pushing over your apparent boundaries are made possible by confidence. Yes, some people are born with confidence, but like everything else, confidence can be developed. You can start adopting these ten habits of extremely self-assured people right now and improve your life.

1. They Learn All the Time

The main reason why we are not learning more is because we fear failure. Confident people, on the other hand, aren't afraid if trying new things and learning new skills, just because they might not succeed right away. If they do succeed, great, and if they don't, they pick up where they left off and use it as a learning experience.

2. They Take Responsibility

As opposed to being idle bystanders in their own lives, confident people assume control over it. They accept that they are responsible for their own decisions, actions, and words. Of course, they might not be able to control the outcome, but they can control for their responses and choices in life, whether good or bad.

3. They Don't Give into Their Fears

Even the bravest ones among us have fears. But, what makes us brave is not our lack of fear, but acting in spite of it. That's also one of the trademarks of all confident people. Fear is what keeps most of us from trying, and it's definitely something that keeps us away from success. Being confident is about stepping out of your comfort zone and giving it a shot.

4. They Don't See Themselves as Victims

At some point in yourself, you are going to feel like everything and everyone is against you. It's an opportunity to fall into self-pity and feel victimized. Confident people do the exact opposite. They view problems and roadblocks as challenges, which drives them to try even harder. Sure, they also feel when they have been done wrong, but that doesn't stop them from achieving their goals.

5. They Respect Others

This doesn't mean that they will put up with other people, no matter how difficult they are. But, they have no problem in seeing value in other people around them. Furthermore, they are more than ready to help them out, whether through pointing them in the right direction, providing timely feedback, or simply lending them a hand when they need it.

6. They Accept Recognition

Once they have done a good job, confident people will be pleased with it, and will accept recognition for their hard work. But, they won't boast about it. They will also praise others which have played a role, because they realize that success is often the result of a team effort.

7. They Have Goals

Setting goals helps them stay on track and monitor their progress. They realize that in order to find success, they need to overcome numerous obstacles and take lots of different steps. But, they are also good at adjusting their goals and taking a different direction. Confident people use goals as motivation, and not as a source of pressure.

8. They Don't Compare Themselves to Others

When you compare yourself to others, all of your flaws come to the forefront, and you focus on them, instead of focusing on your goals. People which are highly confident focus on themselves and all the ways they can improve their skills, which further boosts their confidence.

9. They Look after Themselves

In addition to taking care of their minds, confident people also take care of their bodies. Let's be honest, looking your best has an outstanding effect on your confidence, so make sure to watch what you eat, get plenty of sleep, and exercise regularly. This also reduces your chances of getting sick, because when you are sick, you can't work on your goals, no matter how confident you are.

10. They Learn to Trust Their Instincts

Confident people learn to go with their gut. This doesn't mean that they don't put any thought into their actions or decisions, because they do. The reason why it may seem that way is because they have learned to make decisions in an instant, without hesitating. They make decisions every day, without postponing them, or passing them off onto others.

The Final Word

Being confident does that take work, at least in the beginning. But, if you implement the tips we have shared in this article, you will become so good at it, it will become your second nature. It will feel effortless, because you will grow your confidence.

How to Stop Taking things Personally ( 6 Tips )

People often end up overreacting to situations where something has been said about them or they took it the wrong way. Taking things personally is part of human nature. Its often easier to believe bad things than good things.

Here are 6 ways to stop taking things personally:

1. Know that you are in control

You are the only one who controls your thoughts and actions. If someone comments about you or something related to you, don’t take it to heart, that is allowing someone else make you sad or control how you feel or react.

2. Focus on what you want

When we give attention to what other people say we can be diverted from what we want to do or achieve in life. Taking things personally disturbs your mind and heart which leads to a reduction in effort that take you to your goals. Ask yourself what is more important to you, your goals or what others have to say about you. Focus on accomplishing what you want and use it as a tool to speak for you instead of getting into arguments.

3. When in doubt, ASK

Sometimes things we take personally are not even meant for us. If you are unhappy because of something said approach the person directly and clarify what exactly they meant. Communicating the right way at the right time can avoid confusion and misunderstandings which lead to personal differences. Ask for honest feedback and listen to it.

4. Be accompanied by good people

If you tend to take things personally and think that your friends make comments about you that you don’t like, stay away and surround yourself with people who are more supportive. Look for signs that tell you that its time to move on. If you find that negative comments and criticism has become an integral part of your social life, change your circle.

5. Take the lessons and leave the rest

If someone criticizes you or makes unkind comments about you, take those comments and criticisms as a motivating force and thank people for letting you know about your weaknesses and mistakes. Grasp the positive element of anything said, learn what you can, and leave it alone.

6. Talk to the hand

If you have tried everything but people are still unkind to you follow this technique: Stop paying attention to what they are saying, focus on what you do and be yourself. The underlying concept is that you cannot control the actions of others however you have full control over yourself. Don’t be embarrassed about something said about you and simply walk away.

9 Comebacks for Dealing with Rude People

People can tend to have a love/hate relationship with their families, bosses, friends, and even spouses. They can be the sweetest people with loving intentions one second, and the next, say something so offensive that makes you want to call them every name under the sun and react negatively. Questions like “When did you gain so much weight?” or “When will you ever get another boyfriend?” or “Why haven’t you found a job yet?” can really hit below the belt and really set off your temper, if you allow it. People don’t often think about what they say before they say it, which can lead to disaster if the person they are speaking to (you) becomes offended.

You have a right to defend yourself and speak your mind, but you can come up with a retort that allows you to express yourself while still being positive and polite.

Finding the right comeback to deal with rude people isn’t always easy, especially if that person signs your paychecks. If you have been wondering how to handle your mother-in-law who can’t seem to keep her mouth shut about your weight, or your boss who shows no remorse when he gives you extra work to do, consider these comebacks the next time you encounter rudeness.

1. THANK YOU.

A simple “thank you” speaks volumes when you encounter rudeness. Not only does it show the other person that you didn’t let their words affect you, it reflects maturity on your part. You chose not to ignore the person or get angry, but met both of those tactics somewhere in the middle. A “thank you” usually implies that you acknowledge someone’s thoughtfulness and are responding to that. However, in this case, your “thank you” will mean that you acknowledge the person’s rudeness and you choose not to let it affect you. That will shut the other person down quickly when he or she realizes that the comments didn’t phase you.

You choose how to react in any given situation, so choose happiness. It will keep your thoughts and actions positive, and show others that their rude words simply cannot take your power from you.

2. I APPRECIATE YOUR PERSPECTIVE.

Not only does is this an intelligent approach, it will show the person that you only wish to communicate in an adult manner, and not stoop to their level. Any rude comments reflect the other person’s shaky perception of themselves, so remember that when someone blurts out something tactless. They may want to bring you down, but you don’t have to let them. Show them that you will only continue the conversation with dignity and respect. They may actually respect you more by reacting in such a considerate way. If this doesn’t happen, shift your focus with this next tip.

3. THIS CONVERSATION IS NOW OVER.

If you find yourself too angry to respond to someone in a civil way, simply end the conversation. You don’t want to cause permanent damage to a relationship by losing your cool, but you also don’t want to disrespect yourself by pretending like the person’s comments or questions are acceptable.

Choose to take the high road and not allow the conversation to carry on, and you will be able to keep your dignity while skipping a potential all-out brawl or heated argument.

4. WHY DO YOU FEEL THAT WAS NECESSARY, AND DO YOU REALLY EXPECT ME TO ANSWER?

Especially in group settings, this will likely put the other person in check very quickly. Instead of getting the expected irate response out of you, they will meet a calm, cool and collected you, ready to talk things over sensibly and decently. Also, it will give them a chance to redeem themselves, and apologize to you in front of your friends, family or co-workers.

Other people do need to know that you do not tolerate rude or uncalled for questions and comments, and that you will call attention to their uncouth behavior. If they say “yes” to the second part of your question, you can simply reply with “Well, it looks like this isn’t your lucky day,” and be done with the conversation.

5. THAT ALMOST HURT MY FEELINGS.

While a little on the sarcastic side, it tells the other person that you choose not to absorb their negativity. It also deals with rude people in a mature way, and will probably discourage the other person from making any other remarks once they realize you aren’t affected by them.

6. YOU’RE RIGHT.

While most people have a hard time saying these two words, it will benefit you to make the other person believe they were in the right in what they said, and will likely cause the conversation to be cut short. What more can they say after this comeback? You admit their rightness, and then disengage from the conversation. While you might not get as much satisfaction by using this tactic, it will put a damper on the other person’s enjoyment since they won’t get a rise out of you, which is what they were after in the first place.

7. YOU ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY, DON’T YOU?

This takes the attention off of you and back onto them, making them think twice about their choice of conversation topics. Not only will you, rightfully so, draw their focus onto their own words, but also force them to reconsider what they say in the future.

Speaking your mind when a person repeats behavior that offends you is never wrong or uncalled for; if you feel you need to draw attention to someone’s behavior, then listen to your gut. The person’s negativity likely affects other people besides you, so making them aware of their own toxic behavior will actually benefit you and others in future situations with this person.

8. I LOVE MYSELF, AND I LOVE YOU, TOO.

This may only apply in certain situations with friends, family, and your spouse. If you say it to your boss, you might either get a strange look or get your named removed from the payroll, so use it at your discretion. However, this comeback had to make an appearance on the list because of its effectiveness at shutting down rude people. Kindness always prevails over negativity; darkness cannot thrive where light is present. When you express to the other person just how much you love life and others, their comments become irrelevant and lose power quickly. Their sour mood and bleak outlook on themselves, you, and life will not be a match for your extreme happiness and zest for life. People also aren’t used to such raw emotion from others, and will probably be too surprised to formulate a proper response.

Your words have the ability to boost the entire energy of a room and promote more positive conversation. You can’t go wrong with that!

9. LAUGH

This reaction will definitely catch the offender off-guard and make a rude person feel embarrassed for even making the comment in the first place. For instance, if your aunt brings up your recent job loss at dinner again, just laugh. It will make the present moment seem a little less serious, and will send a message that you don’t let other people’s rude comments affect your mood or outlook on life.

8 Signs That Indicate You Have a Strong Personality That Usually Scares Others

If you have a strong mind, people will usually depict you as arrogant, it’s kind of an unwritten rule. Your strong mind will either attract strong minds alike, or will offend a weak one. Whatever the case may be, it’s true that people are scared by a powerful personality and tend to avoid.

We bring you 8 signs that indicate you have a strong personality:

1. You do not try to please anyone
You don’t do anything to impress other people. You are true to your opinion and to yourself, and pleasing other’s opinion doesn’t go well with your true character.

2. You do not seek for attention
You naturally don’t want attention because you’re confident and happy with who you are and don’t need other’s eyes and approvals on you. It’s because you have approved yourself first.

3. You admit your mistakes
You don’t consider yourself perfect, nor do you try to bring upfront a “perfect” persona in front of your friends. You are not feeling ashamed when you admit your mistakes, because you’re aware of them.

4. You stick to your morals
You have your own opinion on what’s good and what’s bad and nothing and no one will turn a switch on you. You stand firmly on the ground and nothing can throw you out of balance.

5. You do not tolerate excuses
Here, the problem is not the ego. Not tolerating excuses is something that you will often find yourself thinking that it’s a waste of time. You want to leave your comfort zone and try to make the best of it.

6. You cannot stand ignorance and insensitivity
You don’t like people that are ignorant and act fast and make decisions very quickly. You are aware and thoughtful, and you have empathy.

7. You don’t like small talk
“What’s the weather there?” is one of the questions that won’t start a nice conversation with you. You tend to either speak about something more meaningful than to waste time on mindless conversations.

8. You are not arrogant – you just have a strong attitude
You are the type of person that knows your own value. Once you know your value you know what to bring in your life and what is meaningful and what is not. Being upfront and direct in needed situations, and stand firmly on the ground is a gift that should not be taken as a joke. Those who are insecure will find themselves easily offended, but you don’t care. You won’t change who you are.
Why Some People Tie a Red Thread On Their Left Hand !

Why Some People Tie a Red Thread On Their Left Hand !

Wearing a red thread around the thread, especially on the left hand, is a Kabbalist tradition. Kabbalah is an esoteric discipline of the Jewish mysticism. The word literally means “reception, tradition or correspondence”.

However, among the people, wearing a red thread around the wrist first became popular when Madonna started this “trend”. The people followed, without asking is there anything more deeply connected with this?

Why Some People Tie a Red Thread On Their Left Hand !

This tradition actually has nothing to do with fashion, or popularity. It is believed to protect the one who’s wearing it from something bad. An evil eye, bad intentions of people or even dark, unexplained forces…

That’s why it is believed that after a woman conceives, she should definitely wear a red thread around the left wrist, because people can be especially devious and jealous towards pregnant women. But, for the “magic” to work, the thread must be put on the wrist by the lover or one of the closest relatives.

Also, a lot of difference is made depending on which hand the thread is worn. Wearing it on the right wrist, in the Jewish and also Hindu tradition is a sign that the person is not married.

Because the Kabbalists believe that the left hand is the gateway from the esoteric to your body, wearing the red thread on the left wrist will protect the one who’s wearing it from the evil things sent to you. If the bracelet is put on you by your lover, or if it’s taken or bought from a temple, it is considered to be more powerful.

But did you know that besides the traditional beliefs, the science has actually proven that wearing the thin thread on the left wrist can help solve serious health issues, such as restriction of blood circulation, inflammatory processes and different types of pain in the body.

Maybe the occult science was really about improving the health of the organism, but the given explanations are way more magically and spiritually expressed. Don’t you think?

The annual cost of diagnosing and treating melanoma in Australia has ballooned by nearly seven times to A$200 million in the past 16 years. The QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute says costs have risen from A$30 million in 2001 while the number of people with the disease has soared from 8885 to 13,000 despite the potentially deadly skin cancer being largely preventable by avoiding the sun and wearing protective clothing. QIMR Berghofer health economist Associate Professor Louisa Gordon says the findings show the need for new messages encouraging Australians to be sun safe, much like the successful Slip, Slop, Slap campaign that began in the early 1980s.

US transgender soldiers, sailors, airmen and other members of the military, with others who want to enlist, sued President Donald Trump, hoping the federal courts will stop him from preventing their service. One federal lawsuit was filed in Baltimore by the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland on behalf of six transgender individuals currently serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, National Guard and Naval Reserve. Another was filed in Seattle by Lambda Legal, on behalf of a 12-year Army veteran and two young transgender men who hope to enlist, along with Human Rights Campaign and the Gender Justice League.

Justine Damond's grieving Australian family and friends may be forced to wait until the end of the year to find out if the Minneapolis police officer who shot her dead will be charged. The prosecutor heading the investigation into the July 15 shooting, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, estimated it would take four to six months to decide if charges are laid against Officer Mohamed Noor. "The truth is, we are following the same procedure we have with the three previous officer-involved shootings. Usually from the time of the officer firing the shot until our office's announcement of a decision, four to six months have elapsed," he said.

The leaders of France, Germany, Italy and Spain agreed on a new policy to grant asylum to vulnerable migrants who apply for protection while in Africa instead of their destination countries. At a Europe-Africa summit in Paris aimed at finding long-elusive solutions to illegal migration, the European leaders also agreed to help the African countries through which Europe-bound migrants usually pass with border controls. In a joint statement, the four leaders acknowledged the need to initiate a process in Chad and Niger that would lead to the resettlement of "particularly vulnerable migrants" in Europe. The process would allow migrants to immigrate legally to Europe if they are on an eligibility list provided by the UN refugee agency and registered with authorities in Niger and Chad.

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet introduced a bill to legalise gay marriage, the latest in a series of recent reforms in a country long regarded as one of Latin America's most socially conservative. Bachelet signed the proposal, which will be sent to lawmakers, at a ceremony in the presidential palace. Chile approved civil unions for same-sex couples in 2015 and decriminalised gay sex in 1999. The bill comes a week after Chile's Constitutional Court upheld a measure that would end the country's absolute ban on abortions.

Residents in Rwanda's capital say seven people have been killed by crocodiles on the banks of Nyabarongo River this month. Donata Mukanyana, a mother of six children, said her husband was taken last week by a crocodile while trying to draw water from Nyabarongo River in Kigali's Nyarugenge district. Amid a prolonged dry spell, residents from Nyarugenge and Kamonyi districts are increasingly depending on Nyabarongo waters for domestic use. Marie Rose Mureshyankwano, Governor of Rwanda's Southern Province, confirmed the deaths and said the Government is working to extend clean water supply in the affected areas.
