You have probably heard of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but what about Ayurvedic medicine? Ayurveda is India's ancient healing system that dates back thousands of years. It is also known as Traditional Indian Medicine. Like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda takes a holistic approach and is based on the belief that illnesses are caused by some sort of imbalance between the mind, body and spirit. When these three basic constituents of the human body are in harmony, a person experiences optimal health, according to WebMD.

Just as you can incorporate elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, such as qigong and acupuncture, into your own home remedy routine, you can also learn and borrow from Ayurvedic medicine. Especially as Ayurvedic medicine, like Traditional Chinese Medicine, is aimed at enhancing the quality of life, as opposed to treating specific diseases and ailments. One of the ways to use Ayurveda as a home remedy is to give yourself a relaxing self-massage. Known as "Abhyanga," this massage is intended to restore balance in the body and promote longevity and self-love, according to The Chopra Center.

Abhyanga takes only 15- 20 minutes, but has a host of enduring benefits. These include, lubricating the joints, increasing circulation, stimulating the internal organs, eliminating toxins, increasing stamina, and calming the nerves.

To give yourself an Ayurvedic massage, begin by heating coconut, sesame, or sunflower oil. The massage can be performed sitting or standing. Try both and see which is most comfortable for you.

Begin by applying oil to the crown of your forehead, working outwards in circular strokes. Massage your entire scalp, and then move on to your face. Massage your forehead, temples, cheeks, jaws, and ears. When massaging your arms and legs, use long strokes, pausing to massage your joints in circular motions. Rub your abdomen and chest using broad clockwise movements. When focusing on your abdomen, follow the path of your intestines, moving upwards on the right side, then across and down on the left side. Finish with your feet.

Once you have finished the massage, it is important to sit still for 5- 15 minutes in order to allow the oil to absorb into your body, says The Chopra Center. Afterwards, indulge in a warm bath or hot shower. Use mild soap to cleanse your body of the oil, but do not scrub too vigorously. Dry yourself gently.

You will feel nourished and grateful for having taken the time to renew your mind, body and spirit.

According to Easy Ayurveda, self-massage will make anyone feel good, but can be particularly effective for people suffering from chronic pain. This is because the oil absorbs directly into the body at the source of pain. By giving these areas a bit of extra love and attention, you can bring relief without the use of pain pills.

Some factors include heightened melanin secretion in these areas, hormonal imbalances at certain stages, usage of specific hormonal medications, diabetes, wearing tight clothing, increased friction between thighs, dry skin, or excessive sun exposure, leading to darkening in the buttock and surrounding regions.

Regarding unpleasant odors in the intimate area, some women may experience this due to inadequate personal hygiene, trichomoniasis, or bacterial infections.

It’s advisable to seek medical advice concerning buttock darkening and unpleasant odors to identify the causes and appropriate treatment methods. What Do These Red Dots On Your Skin Mean?

What Do These Red Dots On Your Skin Mean?

What Do These Red Dots On Your Skin Mean?

Often, individuals suddenly notice perplexing red dots appearing on their skin. However, there’s no need for alarm. We’ll delve into why these dots emerge and how to deter their proliferation.

One potential cause is hemangioma, which is a small benign tumor comprising blood vessels. Its development typically stems from two primary factors:

  1. Age: Hemangiomas often manifest in individuals aged thirty or above. Typically, they resemble small, raised moles with a cherry-like appearance, predominantly found on the body, arms, and shoulders. Such hemangiomas arise from minor age-related alterations in the skin and blood vessels.
  2. Health Issues or Lifestyle Choices: Should a hemangioma appear as a spot with vascular branches, it could signal underlying liver problems, vascular diseases, or hormonal imbalances.

Additionally, other factors contributing to these dots include:

  1. Thrombocytopenia: The appearance of spots on the legs may indicate thrombocytopenia, a condition characterized by low platelet levels. This can result from medication reactions, immune system disorders, or even leukemia.
  2. Prolonged Stress: Excessive strain over prolonged periods can lead to spots on the chest, neck, or face. This strain may result from childbirth, heavy lifting, persistent crying, vomiting, or excessive coughing.
  3. Medication Reactions: Certain medications can trigger the development of such spots, often as part of allergic reactions.
  4. Scarlet Fever: Individuals with strep throat may develop scarlet fever, which manifests as small red spots covering the body, resembling a rash akin to sandpaper or sunburn.
  5. Malnutrition: Malnutrition can also cause spots to appear on the skin, often accompanied by deficiencies in vital nutrients such as vitamins C, K, B, and others.

In such scenarios, it’s advisable to consult a doctor promptly if you notice any changes in the size, shape, or bleeding of familiar red moles. While hemangiomas typically don’t warrant immediate hospital visits, seeking medical advice is prudent for reassurance.

Prevention is key to averting future occurrences, and adopting a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet is paramount. Incorporate juices, ample water, and fresh vegetables into your diet, alongside healthy fats like avocado and olive oil. Adhering to these simple guidelines can help maintain clear, youthful skin and promote overall bodily health.

Try this to remove under skin pimples without damaging your skin

Try this to remove under skin pimples without damaging your skin

Under-skin pimples, also known as blind pimples or cystic acne, are painful, swollen, and usually don't form a visible head like typical acne. They form deep under the skin and can be challenging to treat. Picking or squeezing them can lead to further inflammation, scarring, or even infection. Here’s how you can effectively treat under-skin pimples without damaging your skin.

1. Use Warm Compresses

Applying a warm compress to the affected area helps to reduce pain and promote blood circulation. The heat can bring the pimple to a head, making it easier to treat.

  • How to do it: Soak a clean cloth in warm water, wring out the excess, and gently press it against the pimple for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this process 3-4 times a day.

2. Apply a Spot Treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid

Both benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid are effective ingredients in treating acne. Benzoyl peroxide helps to kill acne-causing bacteria, while salicylic acid exfoliates the skin and unclogs pores.

  • How to do it: Apply a small amount of the treatment directly onto the pimple using a clean finger or cotton swab. Be careful not to apply it to surrounding areas, as these ingredients can be drying.

3. Use a Retinoid Cream

Topical retinoids, such as adapalene or tretinoin, can prevent clogged pores and promote faster skin cell turnover, which helps in healing under-skin pimples.

  • How to do it: Apply a pea-sized amount to the affected area once a day, preferably at night. Retinoids can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, so always use sunscreen during the day.

4. Try Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a natural remedy known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It can help reduce the size and redness of the pimple.

  • How to do it: Dilute tea tree oil with a carrier oil (like jojoba or coconut oil) in a 1:9 ratio. Apply a small amount to the pimple using a cotton swab. Be sure to do a patch test first to check for any allergic reactions.

5. Avoid Touching or Popping the Pimple

While it might be tempting to squeeze or pick at a pimple, doing so can push the infection deeper into the skin, leading to more inflammation and possible scarring.

  • What to do instead: Keep your hands away from your face and avoid popping the pimple. This will give your skin time to heal naturally.

6. Stay Hydrated and Eat a Healthy Diet

Hydration and nutrition play a crucial role in skin health. Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins from the body, and a diet rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants can promote clearer skin.

  • Tips: Focus on eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Reduce intake of sugary foods, dairy, and processed snacks, which have been linked to acne flare-ups in some people.

7. Use a Gentle Cleanser and Moisturizer

Keeping the skin clean is essential, but using harsh cleansers can strip away natural oils, causing more breakouts. A gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser and moisturizer can keep your skin clean without clogging pores.

  • How to do it: Wash your face twice daily with a gentle cleanser. Follow up with a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

8. Consider Over-the-Counter Patches

Hydrocolloid patches, or acne patches, can help to reduce the size and redness of the pimple by absorbing excess fluid and protecting the area from bacteria.

  • How to use: Apply the patch over the pimple and leave it on for several hours or overnight. This can help flatten the pimple and speed up healing.

9. Seek Professional Treatment for Persistent Pimples

If you frequently suffer from under-skin pimples, it may be time to consult a dermatologist. They can prescribe stronger treatments, such as oral antibiotics, hormonal therapies, or corticosteroid injections.

Final Thoughts

Treating under-skin pimples requires patience and gentle care. Avoid aggressive methods that can damage your skin. Instead, opt for these safe and effective remedies to help you clear up the breakout without causing further harm.
